Hey there!Hope you are doing great!
The summer is here, in full force. It’s hot and will get hotter in the next couple of months. Please stay hydrated, eat lots of fruits and veggies, and indulge in your favorite ice cream. And please don’t forget to brush twice a day and if you have sensitive teeth (like me), our Aloe Mint Instant Sensitvity Relief Toothpaste will be your best friend. It has a very soothing and refreshing taste and I’m sure you will love it.
Earlier this month, I was going through the feedback of our customers who aren’t happy with our products. As someone who has worked extensively to create these products, I do get disappointed with myself because we aren’t able to make all of you happy or satisfied.
Now, this is a difficult problem to solve. If we go as per the industry norms, a customer satisfaction score of above 75% is considered to be good, implying there will be ~20% of customers who won’t be happy with the products or services.
However, at Perfora, we want to deliver an exceptional experience and ensure that most of our customers are satisfied with our products. This number should be anywhere north of 95% for us as a brand so that consumers continue to believe in our products and in the process, improve their oral hygiene.
For a lot of consumers who end up trying a Perfora product, their first purchase most likely is our Sleek & Smart Electric Toothbrush. Well, it is very encouraging for us to see so many consumers switching to smart brushing, something that we had envisioned early on because, in India, less than ~1% of people use an Electric Toothbrush.
Though, some of the consumers who are either trying out an Electric Toothbrush for the very first time or are comparing our product with another product in the market, are unable to understand a few things and hence, as a consequence feel that our Electric Toothbrush is meeting their expectations in terms of cleaning teeth or otherwise.
Today, I would like to highlight a few aspects of an Electric Toothbrush with the objective of educating our community on the functionality of an Electric Toothbrush. And I’m also taking a shot at addressing the elephant i.e. comments, I keep reading on social media that Pefora Electric Toothbrush just vibrates and isn’t really electric.
Disclaimer: With this newsletter, our objective is not to tell that our Electric Toothbrush is better than other products but it is more of to educate and set the right expectations.
Primarily, there are 3 different types of technology/terms used in the world of an electric toothbrush.
Vibrating Bristles Toothbrush: Today, It is very difficult to find an electric toothbrush with this type of technology. This toothbrush vibrates at a very slow speed of 3000 strokes per minute. For reference, with a manual toothbrush, one brushes with 300 strokes per minute, and hence one can say it is relatively more effective than a manual toothbrush.
Oscillating a.k.a Rotating Bristles Toothbrush: Most of us, considering the advertisements we have seen and the story that we have been sold, the perception in our minds is that if it is an electric toothbrush, the bristles should rotate. This is true for the toothbrush that has a circular head and is enabled with oscillating motion technology. The bristles in such a type of toothbrush vibrate at a speed of ~7,000-9,000 strokes per minute. Oscillating Electric Toothbrushes are proven to be effective when it comes to removing plaque and deep cleaning teeth. However, it requires a fair bit of precision to use an Oscillating Electric Toothbrush because one has to encircle each and every tooth.
Sonic (Ultra High Speed Vibrations) Electric Toothbrush: This is an advanced and superior version of the Vibrating Bristles Toothbrush because, in the Sonic Toothbrush, bristles vibrate at a speed of anywhere between 20,000-40,000 strokes per minute, depending on the product functionality. The advantage of Sonic Toothbrush is that one is able to make 100 times more motion in 1 brushing session. The bristles vibrate at such a high speed, that you can remove sticky dental plaque deep down to the gum line. In addition, the vibrations generate micro-bubbles of water that clean even between your teeth and make your mouth feel uniquely fresh.
Our Perfora Electric Toothbrush functions on Sonic Technology and this technology is proven to effectively remove plaque and clean teeth. If you would like to read more about Sonic Technology enabled Electric Toothbrush, please give these articles a read - Article 1, Article 2, and Article 3.
